AUTUMN DINNER

#twinspopup x #afrikoachocolate x #roastmasterscoffeebar

Wow!!! Pop up number 9, done and dusted!!! ??

Yes kids, we hosted an Autumn ? dinner in the Winter?? Why not?!!! Lol.

This pop was special. We collaborated with two of our favorite brands and
how perfect? Everybody knows that we are obsessed with coffee and
chocolate ?. Absolutely obsessed!!! So how fun that we get to play around
with them at our pop up restaurant?!

We chose Roastmasters coffee bar again because it’s one of our favorite
venues in Pretoria East and it’s cozy!! Absolutely perfect for a lovely
intimate dinner. We love Natania, the owner, she’s amazing and her amazing
daughter, Grethe (who we went to school with by the way ) gave an amazing
coffee talk on the evening. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Now, for the chocolate ? We have a beautiful friend, Katelyn (The
Kate Tin) who is married to an amazing chocolatier (luckiest girl ever!!!
) and they own a brand called “Afrikoa Chocolate”. It’s made in Cape
Town and it’s from Tanzania ??. How about that? ??Please buy local,
honestly!! ? They are amazing and we are obsessed with them and their brand
?. Follow them and spy on them and you won’t regret the chocolate
education. So what a pleasure and honor to do a collaboration with them?!

We hosted a lovely 3 course dinner, wine pairing and a chocolate and coffee
Tasting!!  Phew!! ???

So much fun!!! So much yummy!!

Roastmasters served an amazing “EspressoTini” as welcome drinks ?.
Yaaaaasss!! ??????

We served a citrus and chicken ribbon salad as starter, paired with white
wine. And our take on “American Chili” (cooked with a bit of the Afrikoa
70% chocolate) on flatbread as our main course, paired with a lovely Red
wine ?. We then served a chocolate and coffee pavlova as dessert (made
With Roastmasters coffee beans and 27% Afrikoa chocolate) ????.

We finished off the evening with lovely chocolate cake pops covered with
the 55% Afrikoa Chocolate, served with Roastmasters coffee.

Don’t you just wish you were there ?! Hmmmm ??? lol.

Our baby Heiress Bunduki did an amazing Job on photography (as always)
and our girl Tebogo Mogole did exceptional graphic work on our posters ( as
always)

Just wanna hug and kiss everyone that came to the pop up. It was beautiful
and amazing, we are so grateful.

God bless.

PICNIC POP UP!!

Pop up restaurant number 7!!! ??????? Can you believe that? ???
lol.

We’ve always wanted to host a picnic and we thought what better time ?then
to host it in ? Autumn?. It’s April, everybody is celebrating Easter, it’s
fitting.  We went back to Ça Ira wellness retreat (thank you Dr. Marie
?) And figured we could play around in their garden again.

Listen!! This was the cutest picnic ever!!! ?? but trying to put it
together? … ???… let’s all laugh together!!! ???? let’s just
say, everything that could’ve gone wrong… WENT WRONG!! Lol. Firstly, why
were there no Easter eggs in the whole of PTA? ?? yikes!!! Some pallet
guy cancelled on us the day before? what a mini disaster. This was one of
those pop ups where we were ready to throw in the towel and say “PEACE
OUT!!!!” ???? lol, but with a little motivational talk – we got psyched
up and actually DID THE THINGS!!!!

Picnics are so easy, we played around with canapé options, cutie pie
serving platters, a lot of fresh fruit. It wasn’t difficult planning the
menu, we served sangrias and non- alcoholic fruit cocktails. We had a
cheese board and crackers platter, we did a layered salad in a cup…
yum!!! You also can’t go wrong with mini club sandwiches, samoosas,
Chicken bites… done!!! We made bunny ? ears for the cupcakes… took
hours ?? but we made them with love and it was totally cute and worth it.
The company was amazing, the vibe was great, our baby Heiress came
through and took the most beautiful shots ever ?? what more could we ask
for?

#storkbake!!!  we absolutely loved being the Easter ambassadors so you
know they had to be cute and come through at the pop up, thank you for the
gifts and stork bakes, had an awesome time baking with them. Tebogo Mogole,
the posters looked amazing babes, thank you. Pierre Du Plessis from
Pretoria North… the pallets were amazing!!! You saved the day sir, we
really appreciate it!!! Ok, we’re done  Hope you like the pics!!!

Summer Dinner pop up

Fifth pop up!!!

10 Dec 2016

Constantia Guest Lodge, it reminded us of Stellenbosch. The old white beautiful building, the beautiful antique design inside, the place takes you to a beautiful wine farm in the middle of Franschoek.

The general manager, Helmut was more then happy to accommodate us, very pleasant gentleman. Although we really wanted to host on the 3rd of Dec , it was impossible and our cute faces couldn’t change his mind but the 10th was perfect too.

We wanted to make the last pop up restaurant of the year be a bit more special for our guests. We had hand written “love” notes for everyone , the desserts were served with starlights and it was a beautiful light outdoor dinner … until it started raining!!! our hearts sank but our guests were so pleasant, lol. We eventually moved the party indoors, the beautiful indoors and that just made the evening even perfect it was warm and cozy and everyone was just mingling and giggling – what more could we ask for.

We had a beautiful girl, Ikanyeng who had emailed us a few weeks before and asked if she could meet us and perhaps help us at one of our events. she’s soooo loyal, she came and she worked sooooo hard. Awwww, she has our hearts now️. Our siblings, Dimpho and Kgomotso? The coolest pair we put them to work too and they did a fantastic job, we really appreciate and love them, thank you kids. Yvette, our girl,️ thank you for always offering to help us out, we love you mama. Tebogo, the pop up posters are fantastic our lovie, we appreciate it and to our beautiful little sis, Heiress!!! You’ve been to every single pop up this year!!!!️ We just wanna hug and kiss you all over your face – thank you for being a fantastic photographer, love you baby.

Making people happy makes us happy – we really appreciate our friends and our friends friends and complete strangers who come out to spend their time with us and are helping us grow, we really appreciate it. You guys make our hearts happy. ️

Champagne Breakfast Pop Up

Fourth pop up!!

29/Oct/2016

Ça Ira Wellness Retreat Guest House, awwwww so pretty. It’s actually a Wellness centre where people come to learn how to live a healthier lifestyle, Dr Marie takes care and owns the place as well as other lovely Doctors, EVERYBODY is so lovely there.

Now, how we found this place is pretty interesting ?☺☺☺️. The Twins (us) were jogging (or at least trying?☺?) with our little brother around the Eastwood and Union building area and we jogged past this lovely guesthouse and we were like… “yup, we are hosting our next pop up here”. So we did what we do best ☺☺☺️ lol, after the jog, we went home, dressed up and looked pretty and had a meeting with the owners and who would say No to these cute faces? ??☺☺❤

It was the most beautiful garden pop up ever!!!! Oh my gosh!!! The food was fantastic and for the first time ever we had a live acoustic band (PG_13) serenading our guests ?? absolutely fantastic, they made our pop up a little perfect!! And it was our birthday month so this pop up was basically our birthday party ? and we couldn’t have had a better crowd to celebrate with.

We can’t say this enough… but the people we meet at these pop ups? Melt our hearts ?and the same friends that come to our pop up because they just love us so much… melt our hearts ? even more and the connections people make with each other? Even better because that is the point.

Heiress Bunduki coming through again and take the loveliest pics? Thank baby ❤❤️. Our girl Tebogo Mogole for designing our posters, Love you mama and PG_13 coming through and serenading us with their perfect voices, thank you guys ????

This pop up was soooooo bomb!!! Can’t wait for the next one!!!!! We feel like going to church!!! ?☺☺???

Traditional meets modern food

Heritage Pop up
Pop up number three!!!

24/Sept/2016

Alpine Attitude boutique hotel and conference venue. We actually saw this lovely venue driving on Atterbury Rd from Menlyn once and we were like: “hey, that glass house place is so pretty” so we made a U-Turn and knocked. We were welcomed by the owner, Charmaine and she didn’t even hesitate when we asked her if we could use her venue for the Heritage pop up. The rest is History!!

The venue is perfect!! Everybody liked the venue more and then they liked the food, lol.
We saw it fitting to host a Heritage pop up on Heritage day but of course we added our own little twist to it. We themed our pop up “Traditional meets modern”. We added a little Western twist to the typical South African dishes. We create a three course menu for this pop up including two canapés, a main dish with of course Boerewors and two lovely desserts. Everybody came looking like African Models.

The loveliest thing about these pop ups is seeing all the lovely faces, people you haven’t seen in a while, new faces and then seeing everybody chatting to everybody and making new friends, it’s absolutely lovely.

The lovely invite posters were created by our friend Tebogo Mogole. Lovely snaps by Hieress and the awesome food by the twins, made with lots and lots of love.

Pizza and wine evening

Pop up pizza and wine
Pop up number two!!!

27/Aug/2016

We visit Roastmasters coffee bar in Menlo Park, Pretoria a few times for breakfast on our off days. They serve the yummiest coffee and breakfast granola in the world!!!

For the second pop up, we were struggling to find the perfect venue, so on a random morning we decided to go breathe and have yummy breakfast at Roastmasters and think a little and the lovely owner, Natania Van Heerden came up to us and started chatting to us. We told her what we do, where we studied, only to find out the her daughter and us studied at the same place and graduated on the same day, what a lovely coincidence right?

She suggested we use her beautiful restaurant for our pop up restaurant and of course we didn’t pass up that opportunity. The pop up was absolutely perfect, hosted in the evening, lovely, intimate, perfect venue, couldn’t have asked for anything better.

The lovely invite pamphlets were designed by our beautiful friend Gugu. Lovely snaps by Hieress. The lovely wines from Backsberg wine estate and Steenberg wine estate. The lovely pizza was made by the twins, with love!!!

High tea

Pop up high tea
Pop up number one!!!

02/July/2016

We used the most beautiful cafe for this pop up, called “Alice in Waterkloof” how cute? It honestly looks like wonderland. It’s an outdoor venue with the cutest garden. The owner, Cindy Metz welcomed us with open arms and allowed us to take over.

We’ve always wanted to go for a high tea for our birthday at the Mount Nelson in Cape Town when we lived there but for some reason we never, ever got time. We had a little obsession with High teas even though we’ve never been to one. We then had a high tea on our graduation day hosted by the Hurst campus and it was absolutely amazing!!!

We totally had to do something about it and so we did. Not to toot our own horns but we hosted the loveliest high tea Pretoria has ever seen. We are so glad we brought something that inspired us in Cape Town back home with us.

My little sister, Dimpho created the cutie pie pamphlets for us. The beautiful Hieress took the loveliest snaps. The twins made all the food with lots and lots love.
